Build your own Pontiac or Oldsmobile Original Factory Reproduction Rear Window Defogger Harness to order! The harness will be custom-built to your specifications using factory-original 16 AWG Green or Purple wire (depending on your vehicle's year), your selected length from the switch end to the blower, and the type of Packard connector specific to your application. Pontiac and Oldsmobile Specifications:
Until 1967: Green main wiring
From 1968 to 1970: Purple main wiring
Switch Connectors: Packard double T-Type until 1967, flat Packard type from 1968 onwards (with some T-Types up to 1970—please check your application)
Defogger Blower Motor Connectors: Packard single wire open end type for first-generation motors; Packard single wire closed connector for second-generation motors (from 1968 onwards)
1969/1970: GM began introducing Wire in Glass type of Window Deicer, relegating the Blower Motor type to Wagon applications only
Many vendors claim their harnesses fit 60s Pontiac and Oldsmobile applications, but they often fall short. GM used a patented resistor wire allowing high/low blower speeds, eliminating the need for an in-line resistor. The resistance wiring was either part of the switch assembly or the harness design, as with my quality reproduction harnesses. The resistance wire runs parallel to the main wire and then converges to achieve high/low blower speeds.
